School is canceled today, Monday, January 6, 2025. Be safe and have a great day!

January marks School Board Appreciation Month, and we are so grateful for ours! Please join us in thanking a board member this month! ✨👏

What better way to kick off break than to share some snaps of our festive Trojans from our 12 Days of Christmas?!
We hope everyone has a wonderful winter break!

Congratulations to the 2025 Sebring McKinley Junior High Spelling Bee winner, 8th-grader Brenlee Armour (pictured left). Our runner up was 7th-grader, Alanis Giron-Perez. Thanks to everyone who participated! Congratulations, Brenlee, and good luck at the next level, competing at YSU!

What We're Learning: Our Spanish students constructed their Christmas Piñatas after learning about this Mexican tradition. Check out their creative and festive designs!

School Closure 12/16/24
Due to a critical technical failure affecting the main technology systems, including the PA system, phones, internet, and Wi-Fi, I am unable to ensure effective communication across the district. This poses a significant safety concern, as the inability to alert staff and students promptly in the event of an emergency is unacceptable.
For the safety and well-being of everyone, I have made the decision to cancel classes until these issues are resolved. Therefore, there will be no classes, tomorrow Monday, December 16th. Thank you, Mrs. Viscounte

Reminder: Winter Break begins Monday, Dec. 23. Classes resume Monday, Jan. 6.

A group of our 8th-grade girls took a field trip to NEOMED for the "STEM Goes Red" event to explore the infinite possibilities in the world of STEM. Girls from all over northeast Ohio were there to hear from women in STEM careers and participate in breakout activities, including a heart lab demonstration.
Among the speakers was Miss Ohio, who also wears the hats of a scientist, ballerina and STEM student! Thank you to her and the many wonderful women in attendance who were such an inspiration to our students!

Tomorrow! Wear your pajamas and join us for a fun-filled festive evening for the whole family!

Looking for a Christmas gift for your family to enjoy together? Join other Trojan families and purchase tickets for the Cleveland Cavs game vs. the Boston Celtics on Tuesday, February 4.
If we sell at least 50 tickets through our school (which will all be seated together), we'll be able to go on the court as part of the pre-game cheer tunnel!
Tickets are $49.00 and are available for purchase now through the school board office. They MUST be purchased in advance, and they will be distributed after we sell at least 50. Deadline to order tickets for this promotion is DEC. 20!
PLEASE CALL (330) 938-6165 FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Reminder: Join us, TOMORROW, Thursday, Dec. 12 for our free "Hope Series" for Sebring families.

What We're Learning: Our 4th- and 5th-graders participated in a fun history trivia challenge and the winners received tokens to get a free book from our vending machine!

In November, three of our Trojans performed in the Ohio Music Education Association's District 5 Honors Band at Stambaugh Auditorium, playing alongside more than 100 students from Mahoning, Trumbull and Ashtabula counties.
From left to right: Alanis Giron-Perez (7th grade), Brittney Nagy (9th), and Quincy Taylor (8th) represented Sebring well with excellent performances!

Save the date: Girls in grades K-5 are invited to attend a Girl Scout info/recruitment event at Rodman Library on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 6-7pm. See flyer for details.

Our sophomores visited the MCCTC on Nov. 15 to tour the labs and see if they might want to attend next year.
They were able to see what the career center has to offer, including programs in welding, nursing, culinary arts, auto tech, cyber security, animal science, cosmetology and more.
Applications are currently open. Contact Mrs. Jackson at mjackson@sebring.k12.oh.us with any questions.

What We're Learning: Check out Mrs. Kandel's 7th-graders enjoying their "book bistro," sharing books they've recently read!
