Our McKinley Jr./Sr. High Student Senate groups partnered with Ecology Club and Success and Wellness students for a big goal: expand support for our Sebring families this holiday season. Thanks to the generous support of our wonderful community, our students' mission was achieved. Together, we were able to provide food and care items to 36 Sebring families this holiday season. Thank you for supporting our students and community!
Mrs. Mathias’ students recently connected literature and art as they entered the library’s “TeenTober Bookmark Contest”. The contest challenged teens to create original artwork for bookmarks. Hundreds of entries from around the county were submitted and we have two Trojans whose designs were recognized!

B.L. Miller's Student Senate celebrated "World Kindness Day" last week with a series of activities that promote kindness. At lunch students were invited to fill out note cards to present to friends explaining why they are amazing. Student Senate members also posted messages of kindness throughout the school. Finally, a video explaining the connection between kindness and health was viewed by all classrooms at B.L. Let's keep the kindness going all year, Trojans!
Reminder Trojans:
Señora Thagard’s Spanish classes and Language Club students have been busy! Spanish 3 Honors created a puppet show, while Spanish 4 Honors students made skulls out of rice krispies for Dia de los Muertos. Meanwhile, Language Club spent an afternoon in Cleveland to celebrate “Day of the Dead”; a traditional and cultural celebration for Hispanic cultures.

Mrs. Walsh and Mrs. Sisler’s kindergarten classes explored White House Fruit Farm last month. Students loved exploring the orchards, learning about how a farm works, sampling apples, and even had time to play on the playground. Take a look:

Students in psychology class have been learning about brain biology. To help students better understand the parts of a neuron, and how neural messages are transmitted, they got to make neurons out of candy.
If you've been to football game this fall you may have noticed The Trojan Marching Band has grown to 44 members! To accommodate the growth, our band has new uniforms this year. This year’s band is the largest in recent years. Under the direction of YSU graduate Mr. Wyatt Engstrom, the band is thriving and sounding great!
This month, students at B.L. Miller Elementary School received an exciting and educational visit from the town’s local fire department. Sebring Firefighters spent the morning teaching students the importance of fire safety and what to do in case of an emergency.
The visit was part of National Fire Prevention Week, a campaign aimed at educating communities about fire hazards and safety practices. Dressed in full gear, the firefighters spoke to students about how to recognize fire risks, the importance of smoke detectors, and how to create a family escape plan.

A big "Sebring Shout-Out" to our Economy Club students who embarked on their annual "Trick or Treating for Turkeys" initiative this weekend. Students canvassed the village for their annual fundraiser which seeks to gather money for turkeys to be included in holiday food baskets. Trojans help each other and these students are leading the way!
