Today we honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We are reminded of his contributions to our culture and society, especially from this quote on the goal of education. We will see you tomorrow when classes resume.

Our kindergarteners partnered with Mrs. Mathias’ seniors for a special collaborative project inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ story, “The Gift of Words”.
The story was read aloud to the group. Then kindergarteners and seniors worked in small groups to talk about the power of joyful, meaningful words, especially during the holiday season. Together, they created Christmas tree crafts decorated with the words they chose.
This special collaboration fostered rich vocabulary skills, strengthened communication skills, and supported speaking and listening skills as students of all ages share, explain, and create with language. It was a wonderful way to connect learners across grade levels while celebrating kindness, community, and the impact our words can have.

Reminder:

A special "Sebring Shout-Out " to the following Trojans who represented Sebring with pride during an all-county band performance in Youngstown recently: Alanis Giron-Perez, Aubreigh Jones, Jaxon Pue, Quincy Taylor, Brittney Nagy.

Our McKinley Jr./Sr. High Student Senate groups partnered with Ecology Club and Success and Wellness students for a big goal: expand support for our Sebring families this holiday season. Thanks to the generous support of our wonderful community, our students' mission was achieved. Together, we were able to provide food and care items to 36 Sebring families this holiday season. Thank you for supporting our students and community!
