Reminder: No School on March 2.

The Sebring Local School District is proud to present Mrs. Nicole Mathias as our nominee for "Educator of the Year".
Mrs. Mathias' dedication to our district is exemplary. She pours her heart into her classroom and encourages each of her students' unique abilities to shine! Mrs. Mathias continually connects our district to the surrounding Sebring community, inspiring a greater perspective in each of her students. Always a listening ear, and the first to raise her hand when there is a need, we are fortunate to have Mrs. Mathias as a Trojan!
Mrs. Mathias will represent our district at next week's Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber's "Educator of the Year" awards ceremony. Please join us in congratulating her!

Kindergarten is 100 days smarter and older! Kindergarten students celebrated the 100th day of school by dressing as 100-year-olds and participating in activities involving the number “100”.

Spring is coming Trojans! Mark your calendars for these upcoming B.L. Miller and McKinley dates.

Reminder, BL Students:

Best of luck to our Trojan Cheerleaders as they travel to Big Walnut High School for the State Competition this weekend! Leave a comment below wishing our squad the best of luck in their quest for first in the Game Day Building category!

School Resource Officer Day fell over the weekend but we didn't want the occasion to pass by without recognizing the daily, invaluable work of our School Resource Officers.
Thank you to our SROs for keeping our district secure and offering a strong connection between our village and our school. Please join us in thanking our SROs!

Happy Presidents Day, Trojans. We will see you tomorrow when classes resume.

Congratulations to senior, Ava Coen, and junior, Reagan Buchs for winning the American Legion Americanism in Government Contest. The competition consisted of a civics test with an essay component. Mr. Tim Haynes from Legion Post 574 presented the pair of Trojans their award certificates, earning them a place in a forthcoming District competition. The pair is pictured with Mrs. Lee, McKinley's Government teacher.

What We Are Learning:
Mrs. Lee’s Government students put what they’ve been learning in the classroom into action with mock trials. The classroom was transformed into a courtroom as students played their assigned roles of lawyers, a judge, witness, jury, defendant and more!

Due to sidewalk conditions and several bus stops that are still not clear, school will be cancelled for Friday, January 30, 2026. While temperatures are not as cold as earlier this week, student safety remains our top priority, especially with walking areas still covered in snow and ice.
We truly appreciate all the hard work many of you have already done shoveling and helping clear paths; it makes a big difference. If you’re able, please continue working on sidewalks and bus stop areas so we can safely welcome our students back as soon as possible. We know this weather has been tough, and we can’t wait to have our kids back in school where they belong. Stay warm and stay safe.

If your family needs food support while school is closed, we're here to help. There will be a food pickup at BL Miller on Thursday, January 29th, from 12 to 2:00 PM in BL's loop. Dry goods from the school pantry will be available to Sebring students in need.
Once again, classes are cancelled tomorrow, Thursday, 1/29/26, due to the freezing temperatures.
We are proud of how B.L. Miller's Student Senate led a learning experience to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Student Senate distributed papers to K-3 students that asked them what their dream would be, similar to what MLK spoke about. The 4-6 grade levels were prompted with the following questions about meeting MLK: "I would tell him..., I would ask him..., I would show him..., and I would thank him..." Student Senate also presented a video about MLK that each homeroom watched before beginning the contest.
Contest participants received a treat for trying the contest, and the winners get a coupon for a free food item from the BL Mini Mart (the Student Senate store).
Congratulations to the winners:
Penelope Thomas, Kaliyah Howell, Tempie Hunter, Addalynn Lubert, Filomena Anderson, Cohen Higgins
