Sebring 8th Grade Cross Country Stand-Out Sets Course Record at Newton Falls, Takes 1st Place at Lordstown Invitational

Congratulations to Jason Sanor, who won the inaugural two-mile middle school race at Newton Falls on October 10 with a time of 12:04.32, which will stand as the new course record! He competed against 48 runners in his race. This was his last race as a middle schooler. Next year, he will make the jump to three-mile courses.

Coach Kyle Billingsley said, following the race:

“After finishing 2nd at Jackson Milton a few days prior, I think deep down Jason really wanted to win. He held back at first, but it didn’t take long for him to jump to the lead and never relinquish it. Jason has worked really hard this season and I am so proud of him and what he has accomplished!"

Earlier in the season, he took first place at the Lordstown “Jean Smith” Cross Country Invitational in the two-mile junior high course. Jason’s time of 12:16.15 was 31 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. There were 11 schools at the Invitational held at Lordstown Village Park.

Sanor set Sebring's middle school cross country record with a time of 11:20.20 at the second meet of the year. The previous record he beat was his own from last season, which was 12:01.79.
