Superintendent

Welcome to the Sebring Local Schools.

We are dedicated to providing a high quality, well-rounded education for all of our students. Our teachers, administrators, staff, and board set high expectations for our students and our team in order to create a positive and effective learning environment.

Our work together requires teamwork, collaboration and shared leadership toward a common mission, vision, values, and goals. Our district leadership plan focuses on empowering all students to excel in a global society.  Our innovative approach to teaching and learning develops student empowerment, accountability, and responsibility.

Our team actively engages students to create a culture focused on positive behaviors that support learning. The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program has been in place since 2018, with B.L. Miller being awarded with the Bronze recognition for reaching the Tier 1 intervention success for the 2019-2020 school year. Throughout both B.L. Miller Elementary and McKinley Jr./Sr. High School, our students see and rise to meet these positive behavioral standards. Our team continues to move this program forward to further impact our students.

The curriculum, elective opportunities, and extracurricular activities available are designed to provide a well-rounded educational experience for our students. The community and the schools are deeply connected, with even our youngest students serving the community in our annual food drive every winter. Our small class sizes lend themselves to individualized learning and establishing a supportive community. We offer additional support to our families of service members with our Purple Star designation. Our CARE team provides additional support to provide positive changes in the lives of our students and their families who have external circumstances that can impact the student’s success.

New approaches provide students unique real-world, hands-on experience. Diverse options, from band and 3-D printing to football and our new eSports team allow students to grow their knowledge and soft skills through experiences and opportunities that interest, inspire, and motivate them. We have various pathways to graduation to provide industry credentials, College Credit Plus, strong STEM offerings including Project Lead the Way, and other college-preparedness curriculum based on a student’s goals and ambitions.

Our teachers and students have been phenomenal in adapting to the new requirements and expectations brought forth by the global pandemic, allowing us to continue to safely provide in-person learning in our buildings.

I am proud to be part of a team that is so dedicated to student well-being and success. I am honored to serve a community that serves our students so well. I am thankful to be part of the Sebring family, and look forward to helping our students become successful members of our community beyond the classroom and after their experiences in our buildings.
